About Paving

What is Paving?

Paving is the method of laying a durable surface on an area intended for traffic (auto or pedestrian). Asphalt and concrete are the modern paving methods. Historically brick or stones, metaling, crushed rock, stone chippings, cobblestones, wood planking, and tar were used for paving. In the future, methods to create new roadways and pathways will include permeable paving materials for less-impact, also referred to as pervious paving or porous pavement
